Free Crochet Flower Headband Pattern crochet designer Roseanna Murray Biquinidecroche

As promised in my previous post here is my new free crochet pattern. This crochet flower headband is quick and easy to make and can be made using any scrap yarn you have in your stash (I know we all have them!). My pattern includes two types of flowers for you, a crochet ruffle flower and some cute little blossom flowers. Read more.

You will need

  • Any yarn of your choice for my flowers I used DK yarn for the ruffle flower and Fingering Yarn for my blossom flowers
  • Matching Crochet Hook for your yarn
  • Yarn needle
  • Sissors
  • Beads or buttons for decoration
  • Headband
  • Strong glue

Gauge: Not set as this is for any yarn of your choosing!

Crochet Ruffle Flower

Row 1: Begin with a magic circle. Ch 3 (count as dc), 7 dc into the centre of your magic circle, sl st into front bar of the first dc to close your circle. Total: 8dc.

Free Crochet Pattern   Ruffle Flower Row 1b by Crochet Designer Roseanna Murray  Row 2: Ch 2, (dc, ch2, sl st into the same st), *(sl st into next st, ch2, dc, ch 2, sl st into same st) * repeat * to * 7 times, sl st into back bar of the first dc made in row 1. Total: 8 Petals in total.

Row 3: Ch 3 (count as dc), dc in same st ONLY USING THE BACK BAR OF THE STITCH, 2dc in each back bar stitch of the next 7 sts, sl st into the front bar of the first dc to close your circle. Total: 16 dc.

Row 4: Ch 2, dc, ch2, sl st into the same st, *(sl st into next st, ch2, dc, ch 2, sl st into same st) * repeat * to * 15 times, sl st into back bar of the first dc made in row 3. Total: 16 Petals in total.

Row 5: Ch 3 (count as dc), 2dc in next st ONLY USING THE BACK BAR OF THE STITCH, *dc, 2dc* repeat * to * 7 times using only the back bar of the stitch, sl st into the front bar of the first dc to close your circle. Total: 24 dc.

Row 6: Ch 2, dc, ch2, sl st into the same st, *(sl st into next st, ch2, dc, ch 2, sl st into same st) * repeat * to * 23 times, sl st into the first st. Total: 24 Petals in total.

Fasten off and weave in the ends.

You can add some buttons or beads to the centre of your flower if your wish.

 Crochet Blossom Flower

Row 1: Begin with a magic circle. Ch 3 (count as dc), 9 dc into the centre of your magic circle, sl st into front bar of the first dc to close your circle. Total: 10dc.

Row 2: Sc into first st, 3dc in same st, sl st, *(sc, 3dc) sl st into next st * repeat * to * 4 times. Total: 5 Petals.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Once you have made all 3 flowers arrange them to your choosing and glue them onto your headband. Ta darr you have completed your beautiful flower headband!
